Creation of Adam
Adam was the first man, a personal creation of God. Adam (along with Eve) was made in “the likeness of God” on day six of the Creation week. He was the final and greatest work of the creation and was placed in the Garden of Eden. (Gen. 2:8) Adam was tasked with the responsibility of naming all the animals, tending to the garden, and exercising rule over the earth (Gen. 2:19; Gen. 2:15; Gen. 1:26)
Adam and the Fall of Man
Although he was made pure and holy, through the misuse of his free will he and Eve ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil of which they were told not to eat. (Gen. 2:17) By breaking God’s command, Adam brought a curse on himself and his descendants and was quickly banished from Eden. (Gen. 3:17-19, 21-24)
Life outside Eden
After being expelled from Eden, Adam and Eve gave birth to two boys, Cain and Abel.
Death of Adam
Adam died at the age of 930 years old.
